Protection built around your family.
I'm Mitchell Hebert, a financial advisor with the Knights of Columbus. Since 2015 I've worked with Catholic families across Acadiana on life insurance, retirement income, and Catholic investing.

The work falls into six areas.
We start with what your family depends on and go from there.
Permanent life insurance
Whole life coverage that builds cash value and is designed to last your whole life. For most of the families I serve, this is the foundation everything else rests on.
Term life insurance
More coverage for the years when the mortgage and the kids are both at home.
Retirement annuities
Guaranteed income that turns part of what you've already saved into a monthly check for as long as you live.
Long-term care insurance
A plan for extended care, so a long illness doesn't use up the savings you and your spouse plan to live on.
Disability income insurance
Protection for your paycheck during your working years.
Catholic investing
Advisory accounts through Knights of Columbus Asset Advisors, invested by the guidelines of the U.S. bishops. Details below.
Invest with integrity.
As an Investment Advisor Representative with KoCAA, an SEC-registered investment adviser, I help clients grow their portfolios responsibly through faith-based investment strategies aligned with the guidelines of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

How the first meeting goes.
First conversations happen at my office on Pinhook or over the phone, and they run about half an hour. If it's easier for me to come to you, I do that too. We talk through your family's situation and whatever question brought you in.
I'll look at the coverage and accounts you already have before I recommend anything. You leave with a clear picture of where you stand, and we set the next step before you go.
Lafayette, Louisiana

A brother Knight first.
My wife, Elizabeth, and I are raising four children in Lafayette: Autumn, Gus, Saoirse, and Phillip. We're parishioners at St. Pius X. I took up this work in 2015 because the Knights' mission is personal to me: Blessed Michael McGivney founded the Order in 1882 so that no Catholic widow or orphan would be left without support.
The job hasn't changed much in 144 years. I sit with families and ask about what they're building. Then I make sure a death or a long illness wouldn't undo it. Every policy also strengthens the charitable work the Knights do in our parishes here in Acadiana.

Common questions.
Do I have to be a member of the Knights of Columbus?
Coverage is issued to members and their eligible family members. If you're not a member yet, that's a short conversation, and I can walk you through joining.
Do you only offer Knights of Columbus products?
On the insurance side, yes. I'm a career agent with the Knights. On the investment side I work through Knights of Columbus Asset Advisors, whose portfolios follow the USCCB guidelines.
What's the difference between your insurance work and your investment work?
"Financial advisor" is the everyday title, but underneath it are two separately regulated roles. As a field agent I'm licensed in Louisiana and Arkansas to offer Knights of Columbus insurance products. As an Investment Advisor Representative I provide advisory services through KoCAA, an SEC-registered investment adviser. I'll always be clear about which hat I'm wearing.
We already have policies somewhere else. Is a review worth it?
Yes. Most families haven't looked at their coverage since the day they bought it. I'll review what you have and tell you what I see, including when the right answer is to keep exactly what you've got.
Do you work with families outside Lafayette?
Yes. I'm licensed in Louisiana and Arkansas, and I regularly meet with families across Acadiana and beyond by phone and video when the drive is long.
Book a time.
Pick a time that works for you. The calendar link goes straight to mine, and the first conversation is thirty minutes, at my office or by phone, whichever you prefer.
